17 December 2002, Gallatin, Missouri – WideBand Corporation (OTCBB ZWBC) has seen a dramatic increase in demand for its Professional Series Gigabit Ethernet Switches since the announcement of its new management software feature last month. December 2002 sales were up 300 percent over previous months. The switches are being sold to tier-one customers including the U.S. federal government, universities, Internet service providers, and corporate America.
“Our customers require a powerful yet stable networking environment,” said WideBand President, Dr. Roger Billings. “People are finding that our new Professional Series Gigabit Switches offer both – and at prices people can afford, even during an ailing economy.”
WideBand customers are finding a variety of uses for the new managed switches. “We already have five of WideBand’s giant fsix servers in our department,” said Clayton Burnham, Network Manager at the University of California, Santa Barbara Library. “To be able to take full advantage of these servers, we needed a network switch that could operate reliably at Gigabit speeds – something that other equipment we tried was unable to do.”
Kirk Deweese, owner of Internet Service Provider Micro Com Specialists reported, “We tried some of the inexpensive equipment on the market but ran into difficulties as we migrated up to Gigabit speeds on our backbone. When we tried out a WideBand Professional Series Switch, all of the problems that we were seeing vanished. This equipment really works.”
The law firm of Martin Gottlieb & Associates in Florida has been using a WideBand Gigabit unmanaged switch for several months. They were able to take advantage of the field upgrade feature, which allowed them to transform their old switch into the new state of the art managed version. “We have been happy with our WideBand equipment since we purchased it, and we were very pleased to learn that we could upgrade it to the managed version without the expense of scrapping out the old hardware and installing new,” said Edsel Pertile, Director of IT.
