15 March 2006, Gallatin, Missouri – WideBand Corporation has announced plans to spin off its subsidiary, eGig Corporation, in order to focus its resources on the top-end networking market. The subsidiary will be sold with its trademarks and inventory in an online eBay auction.
eGig Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of WideBand Corporation, headquartered in Gallatin, Missouri. When Cisco, a head-to-head competitor with WideBand, acquired Linksys to provide networking equipment for the consumer and SOHO markets, WideBand Corporation established eGig Corporation to compete in the low-end market segment.
At the time, WideBand Corporation did not anticipate the tremendous demand for their new “high availability” networking products. In order to satisfy market demands, it has become expedient for WideBand to spin off the eGig subsidiary and to focus all its resources on its primary, top-end market niche.
WideBand Corporation is the leading manufacturer of Gigabit Ethernet products that work over existing cables. Their products are manufactured in the United States to strict standards of quality assurance. WideBand markets its products to private industry, the education sector, and to state and federal government. More information on WideBand Corporation and its products is available at www.wband.com.
