WideBand Corporation announced today the launch of their ProUSA series, a new family of standards-based Gigabit Ethernet products targeting the Tier-1 market segment.
The ProUSA product family includes two high performance Gigabit Ethernet NICs (network interface cards). One NIC is designed for use in desktop computers. The other NIC is for use in servers. Both high performance products support the market’s most advanced features including PCIX, with bus data rates of up to 133 MHz, making them compatible with today’s machines but ready to be installed in more powerful computers of the future.
The family also includes a high performance 16-port Gigabit Ethernet switch with Layer 2, 3, and 4 switching, management, and many other advanced features. The new switch will handle up to 104,000 MAC addresses and 512 MB of packet buffering.
All of the ProUSA products are manufactured in the U.S. to insure quality and reliable delivery during periods of unstable markets. Each product has also been certified for 100-meter Cat 5 segments, therefore eliminating the need to rewire the customer’s premises for Gigabit Ethernet.
Jamie Stack, newly appointed Executive Vice President of WideBand Corporation, explained that the products will be marketed through the Company’s expanding network of Authorized Solution Providers and Direct Marketing Resellers. “Since almost all other computer NICs and switches are manufactured off-shore, the ProUSA family will be especially attractive to our channel partners supporting the U.S. government and their ‘Buy America’ policy,” said Stack.
“The advanced features and level of performance from these products, coupled with our unparalleled commitment to customer support and quality, will also attract strong interest in the family from private sector Tier-1 customers,” he said. “When you look at the total cost of ownership, there is no better value than the ProUSA series.”
